150th Battle of Perryville (FYI event)
Perryville, Kentucky
October 5-7, 2012 To all: Looks like only a few folks can attend Perryville, way short of a Company, so we made Perryville an FYI event. Hope to see everyone at Remembrance Day. Overview On October 8, 1862 the Confederate Army of Mississippi and the Union Army of the Ohio met on the farm fields surrounding the small community of Perryville, Kentucky. Before the day was over nearly 2,500 men lay dead and another 5,000 wounded men filled every barn, church and house in the area. The struggle that occurred that day was a Confederate victory; however, Union forces greatly outnumbered the Southerners, which forced Bragg’s Army to retreat from Perryville and eventually withdraw into Tennessee. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go toward land preservation.
